An effective arrangement of a much loved classic by English composer Roger Quilter who was known most notable for his songs. Blow Blow Thou Winter Wind was inspired by, and lyrics from Shakespeare’s From As You Like It, Act II Scene 7 (1599)
This arrangement takes the drama of a cruel winter wind but the more hopeful ‘Heigh ho!’ cry of the chorus, as described by Shakespeare and Quilter, and delivers a delightful piece for brass quartet with stylistic sensitivity to Roger Quilter’s original song.
