Three Russian folk songs are brought together in a one movement work lasting just under 5 minutes in length. All three songs are well known classic examples of the soul and energy of Russian folk music and why it is dear to Russian culture to this day.

Katyusha, an upbeat love song between a beautiful maiden and a soldier opens this arrangement linkining seamlessly into the beautiful Don’t Awaken My Memories ending with Russia’s most famous and most loved folk song Kalinka about the beauty of the Russian countryside and the love of a maiden faithfully reproduced in this arrangement with its traditional and energetic accelerando on each chorus.
