Paul was invited to be the new Musical Director in the Autumn of 2024 following a series of guest monthly workshops. At this time the band was low on numbers but within 6 months of Paul’s appointment as the main band conductor, and such was their quickly growing reputation,  the band soon recruited several new players to bring the membership up to a healthy numbers across all the instruments. 

Paul formed the Chard Concert Youth Brass Ensemble made up of only the young brass players currently in the main band. They meet regularly once a month with Paul to work on the technical side of brass playing and to learn brass chamber music repertoire for performances alongside the main band.
